MUSHROOMHEAD Announces 'Limited-Edition' 3-D Version Of New Album
September 19, 2006MUSHROOMHEAD has announced a limited-edition "3-D" version of its new album, "Savior Sorrow", which is released today (September 19) via Megaforce Records. The first 50,000 copies will have this special packaging available at all stores.
As previously reported, MUSHROOMHEAD will take part in a special in-store signing on Tuesday, September 19 at FYE at 7850 Mentor Avenue, Great Lakes Mall in Mentor, Ohio (just outside of Cleveland) at 6:00 p.m. A CD-release party and performance is scheduled for Wednesday, September 20 at Peabody's in Cleveland, Ohio.
"Savior Sorrow" was produced in April 2006 by drummer Steve "Skinny" Felton and MUSHROOMHEAD at Cleveland's Filthy Hands Studios and is "a new chapter in MUSHROOMHEAD's evolution," according to Felton. "There are sounds on this album that sound so brutal and huge. We focused on delivering some vicious hardcore mixed with heavy melodic hooks. Lyrically, it definitely reflects where the world is at this moment in time." An e-card for the album can be accessed at this location.
MUSHROOMHEAD's follow-up to 2003's "XIII" (Republic/Universal) marks the group's recording debut with singer Waylon, who replaced frontman J. Mann in 2004.
"Waylon brings a new dimension to the band [he's] not only a great frontman, but he can also scream and sing like a chameleon, changing vocal quality to adapt to the true nature of each song," Felton said. "His versatility is remarkable."
MUSHROOMHEAD will be teaming up with SOIL, BRAND NEW SIN and THE AUTUMN OFFERING for a U.S. tour beginning late September.
